THE NARI PROJECT: DALLAS
Fortunately, I was granted further funding to expand to Dallas. I contacted Genesis Women’s Shelter, a well-known local shelter, and have established a partnership with them for my project. I was accepted into the Clinton Global Initiative University program. My commitment is to extend the Nari Project to Dallas, and partner with Genesis Women’s Shelter. I will provide these transitional kits to both shelter and outreach clients, and study the effectiveness of the Crisis Kits in Dallas.
I will be updating this page soon to include information on my time on CGI U. I have written two articles for SMU’s Engaged Learning covering how we prepared for CGI U and a review of the conference, which can both be found at the Engaged Learning Blog.
I have created and distributed kits to ten women at Genesis as a test run, and have received extremely positive results. Below is a touching response from one of the recipients.
